"It continues to be a great honor to serve as your Commissioner of
Revenue. I was first elected in November 1996 and my current term will
expire on December 31, 2007. As a state Constitutional Officer, the Virginia
General Assembly first created the position in 1786. My personal goal,
however, is to serve you and our county in the most efficient, courteous
and up to date manner possible. I look forward to working with you and
other elected and appointed officials to move New Kent forward in the
twenty first century."
Mission
The Mission of the office of the Commissioner of the Revenue is
to serve the citizens of New Kent County by:
- Fairly and equitably identifying and assessing all sources of revenue
to which the County is entitled according to the laws of the Commonwealth
of Virginia and the county of New Kent.
- Advocating and promoting programs to minimize the tax burden on our citizens,
and assisting taxpayers in participating in tax reduction programs.
- Providing taxpayers with accurate and useful information concerning
revenue assessments.
- Providing County officials with accurate and useful information from
which decisions can be made to best serve the citizens of New Kent County.
- Providing efficient, effective and courteous service in a timely manner
to the citizens of New Kent County.

Office hours are 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday.
After hour appointments are available.
The Commissioner's Office is located in Room #202 in the administration
building at the New Kent County Courthouse Complex.
