Anderson & Associates, Inc. provided engineering services under a term contract with Franklin County for a new park at Smith Mountain Lake. The park includes a fishing pier, playground, 1.5 mile hiking trail, bathrooms and picnic shelters. This is the first new park on the lake in 30 years.
Anderson & Associates worked with the Town of Fries, BRCEDA, and DHCD and using CDBG funding, designed grading, drainage, and site improvements for the three tiered redevelopment of the old mill site, including building pads, entrance and access work along Route 94, demolition of abandoned structures, utility relocations and installations, and overall site stabilization to promote marketing of the site for business and commerce.
A&A began work on this project by developing a preliminary engineering report (PER) to determine if the City’s Rock Road Tank should be replaced. The overall purpose of the PER was to present solutions for the reduction of excess water storage, and to improve pressures in the Inglewood and Intermediate pressure levels of the City.
