Lisa Schultz and FamilyNot many people find a job/career early enough in life they enjoy so much to yield the claim “I’ve worked here over half my life!” with a smile on their face. But that’s exactly how A&A’s own Lisa Schultz see it. Originally from Cumberland, Maryland, she and her family relocated to the area when her father’s job was transferred to Pearisburg, VA. While in school, she had taken some accounting classes and discovered she really enjoyed it. She was fortunate to come on-board with A&A in 1990 when the supervisor of her temporary job recommended she speak with former Business Manager Ron Gibbs and the rest, shall we say “is history.”

“I have become well-rounded working here,” says Lisa. She’s held several positions including office aid, secretary, proposal coordinator, payroll assistant and now as accounting specialist, she works closely with the accounting manager and the Vice President of Administration. By far, she has enjoyed her position in accounting the most. On a regular basis, she does accounts payable, writes checks, gathers and processes credit card information, handles employee memberships, makes hotel reservations and assists project managers with billing. She enjoys billing the most. “There are always new things to learn,” Lisa says, “I would like to continue to grow in the Accounting Department.”

Outside of work, Lisa wears the hat of “chauffeur” driving her son, Ryan, and daughter, Sarah, to and from their events and obligations. While providing taxi service to her kids is a form of travel, Lisa says she would really enjoy traveling internationally, and has her sights on Italy, Aruba, and Jamaica.

Other interests of Lisa’s include staying fit. Lisa states “My daughter says that I’m ‘obsessed’,” because Lisa has a serious commitment to getting in her steps after boyfriend, Vic DiCenzo gifted her with a Fitbit in February. In addition to just “steps” she makes it a point to exercise each day, and sometimes two and three times per day. So if you see her walking around the office, she’s not just working, she’s also working on her 250 steps per hour!
