VDOT LogoYou have the perfect project in mind. You’ve done your research, and now you’re ready to begin your planning. But there’s a problem. You don’t have the funds necessary to bring that project to life. Funding is one of the first hurdles a project must overcome in order to move from planning into design and construction. A&A keeps up-to-date on available funding programs to better serve our clients. Some of our employees recently attended Virginia Department of Transportation Map 21 funding workshops held throughout our region.

Applications for Map 21 funding are due by November 1, 2014, and we can assist you with preparing the funding application. Over the years, we’ve had great success in assisting our clients with securing funding for their projects. Map 21 funds must be used for projects related to surface transportation and be one of the ten designated enhancement categories (bike/pedestrian facilities, historic preservation, overlooks, etc.) Safe Routes to School funding is also now under this program. Up to a max of 80% of eligible project costs can be reimbursed with federal funds and a minimum of 20% must come from other public or private sources. For more information about Map 21 funding, please contact Chip Worley at or Jessica Nichols at
