At Anderson & Associates, teamwork is the foundation of the organization. We have many different project teams working like mini-companies under the A&A corporate shell. Because of this environment our teams recognize the importance of quick turn-around and excellent service, which our administrative procedures, overall organization and depth of experience provide our clients. From the individual project teams to the employee stock ownership program, our teamwork approach encourages employees at all levels to strive for excellence.
In our company, creativity is valued more highly than conformity. By providing an open and supportive organization, we have been able to recruit and retain creative and dedicated people leading to high quality solutions for our clients. Our company encourages open dialogue (really), but with the understanding that you have to be able to prove your point if you have a different idea or disagree with the way things are done.
A&A practices open book management. All of our accounting reports are open and accessible for all the employees who care to look which has every penny accounted for. In our company, knowledge is not hidden from its employees, which traditionally provides a security blanket for individuals, but rather openly distributes information to all that are interested.
At A&A flexibility is key. Our office is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. All employees are issued a key to their particular office so that depending on the demands of your position and the needs of your team manager, you can create your own work schedule. All of our employees are paid on an hourly basis (even Mr. Anderson, our CEO) to avoid two classes of employees and to enhance our commitment to being flexible.
Continuing education and development is a core value of our firm. We encourage continuing education both inside and outside the firm and will pay for time and registration for legitimate learning events, which will help both the employee and the firm, and we have also developed a corporate university that we call Anderson & Associates University (AAU) as a means to internally enrich all members of the organization. We also believe in participating in and supporting professional activities (at a cost) for the good of the profession, the public, and the employees.
As a community-minded organization, we give and support local and regional civic and educational efforts of every shape and description. Employees are even granted the opportunity to charge hours for time spent with organizational sponsored community activities. Past projects have included the Rotary Club Spelling Bee, United Way Campaign, Fill-a-Bookbag and Fill-a-Stocking programs for the Salvation Army, and the Montgomery County VA Christmas Store.
