Anderson & Associates is thrilled to announce that our CEO, Ken Anderson, was recently honored by the New River Valley Regional Commission (NRVRC), by receiving the Citizen of the Valley award. This award is given to a citizen within the New River Valley who has made significant contributions to the betterment of the region.
The ceremony was quite the shindig, held at the Hotel Floyd, complete with a food truck rodeo, live music, and local crafts. Guests from around the NRVRC region which encompasses the counties of Floyd, Giles, Montgomery and Pulaski, and the city of Radford were all in attendance. Ken was accompanied by his wife Ame, and a group of A&A employees.
Also honored at the ceremony was Rick Boucher, 9th Congressional District representative from 1983-2011, who received the Champion of the Valley award. This award is given to an elected official within, or representing, the New River Valley who has greatly assisted communities and residents during their service to the public.
We at A&A heartily agree with the NRVRC’s selections, and are proud to have the NRVRC, one of 21 regions in Virginia whose commissions are chartered under Virginia law, crow about some of our CEO’s many accomplishments. Ken established Anderson and Associates in 1968 from his home while working on his master’s degree at Virginia Tech, and has been a driving force in economic development and progress for Southwest Virginia over the past four decades. He has helped shaped the past of our region, and his forward-thinking leadership skills and vision continue to help shape its future. Congratulations Ken, you highly deserve this honor.
