Tennessee’s Premiere Old Island

by Valerie Beelman

The Old Island Development, located less than 10 miles from downtown Kingsport, Tenn., promises superb views and an admirable location for approximately 50 new homes. Upon completion, this development will feature three unique communities—Treetop Estates featuring estate built custom homes on at least five-acre lots, Crockett Landing featuring single-level homes, and Old Island featuring two-story luxury homes.

Anderson & Associates’ Project Manager Calvin Clifton has worked closely with Jerry Petzoldt of the TCI Group since last fall on this project. "The terrain on this project has been challenging. It is a typical East Tennessee project, dealing with steep slopes. We also had to work around an existing golf course and community," Clifton said.

This development is located in a region rich with history. The Old Island name is derived from the Old Island Road, one of the nation’s oldest wagon routes established before the American Revolution.

These neighborhoods will surround an 18-hole public golf course and feature underground utilities. "This is an absolutely beautiful location in the southern mountain climates," A&A’s Clifton said.

Goal Driven Marketer

by Valerie Beelman

Creativity matters to Anderson & Associates’ Marketing Assistant KyAnne Reeves. She began her college career studying early childhood education, but changed her major to Business with a focus on Marketing so she could still flex her creative muscles.

KyAnne joined A&A in May 2005 as a Marketing Assistant. "I did research on the company and was interested in what type of marketing experience I could gain from an engineering firm," she said. "I have increased my writing skills, my Photoshop skills, and my multi-tasking abilities."

Her days vary greatly as she helps her team members. She assists with writing and formatting proposals, scanning plots, verifying pay estimates, and helping her team members remain organized.

"I enjoy tasks that make me think. The most interesting part of my job is when I get to be creative or learn something new," she said.

KyAnne leads an active life away from work. She is the proud mother of Donte’ and Jaylen and encourages them as they explore their personal interests. Currently she is in training with the Literacy Volunteers to tutor in the English as a Second Language program. Professionally, she plans to earn her MBA with a concentration in Marketing and own a Marketing Consultant firm. &
