The firm’s redesigned web site, located at www.andassoc.com, features a bid information section, which provides contractors with access to advertised project information and frequently updated addenda, as well as an option to order project plans and specifications online. Contractors have convenient and immediate access to all online bid information…free of charge.

A&A's redesigned web site offers interactive features that simplify the construction bidding process.Through the online bid information section, A&A provides a higher level of customer service for the firm’s clients. "The future of commerce is online," said Ken Anderson, president of A&A. "As a design services firm, we are committed to utilizing cutting-edge technology to benefit our clients. Through interactive features like the bid information section, we are creating an easier and less expensive way of doing business."

In addition to the interactive bid information section, the content-packed site features general information about the firm with mapping directions to branch offices; a comprehensive menu of services provided, including online project profiles, simulations, and digital models; an online click-through recruiting brochure and online employment applications; and a section dedicated to A&A University with future functionality including the option for clients to sign up for classes online.

Martin Jansons Takes Up Reins for VSPE

Martin Jansons, Anderson & Associates Project  Manager, is taking up the reins as president of the Virginia Society of Professional Engineers (VSPE).

VSPE is a state level organization of the National Society of Professional Engineers, which represents licensed Professional Engineers (PEs) across all disciplines. The Society serves more than 1,700 PEs in Virginia by promoting licensure and ethics, advocating legal rights, and providing continuing education opportunities.

Martin Jansons (left), VSPE President, discusses a project with Chip Worley, A&A Vice President and COO.Martin has served as a VSPE vice president for the past four years, and was an officer at the chapter level for eight years. As president, Martin plans to recharge the relationship between the VSPE state organization and local chapters through strong communication. Additionally, through the media and legislation, he will strive to police the correct usage of the term "engineer", and to stress the professional nature of services offered.

"For public works engineering services, the concept of ‘value added’ is often overlooked," Martin explained. "As engineers, we need to shift perceptions of our trade from the short-term services needed to get a project off the ground, to what are typically more substantial long-term benefits, such as operational and maintenance economy, that accrue only after a thorough design process."

Martin has more than 17 years experience in the engineering field. He currently serves A&A as a project manager and design engineer for civil and environmental engineering projects, specializing in water treatment and distribution, and wastewater collection and treatment.

Martin is a licensed PE in Virginia, West Virginia, and Tennessee, as well as a Professional Land Surveyor in West Virginia. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech. &
